PROJECT 1: ARTIFICE

EILEEN GRAYS MAISON EN BORD DE MER (E. 1027) 1926-29

The building designed by Eillen Grays built between 1926 and 1929, E.1027 was a unique experiment in architecture and design. Eileen Gray combined built-in furniture with ingenious spatial planning to engage the user with the building and site, incorporating the sun and the sea into the very experience of the house!

DRAFT DRAWINGS

In regards to draft parti drawings the spaces inside E. 1027 creates a tremondous feeling and connection through the openings of occupancy, visitors and work related spaces in particular the circulation and program was a distinct feature to be notified!

PROGRESS MODEL

The start of our model was to workout where my partner and I wil cut the section of the plan before we build our model. So we started with the upper floor plan, before the basement and site model to undergo the amount of structural elements invovled!

Based on my section cut model, I then decided to build the site conoturs
estimating the height and length with the resources that were availiable to construct. So I can fit the cut model location to see how it will blend in the site according with the study drawings.

With the other section being nearly completed we place them together in the site to see the connection of the E. 1027 spaces around the building. As well during the progress we separated the number of floor levels onto the MDF board showned in the image to view the amount of changes the wall structures produce in this building was an amazing puzzle!
